I just finished a masterclass with Marenthe. Two days filled with information and inspiration, contact with fellow makers and Marenthe as our radiating teacher. But also filled with confusion that seems to belong to a happening like this. At least for me.
So today is for letting it all sink in through doodling, relaxing, making art and taking a nap.
I always start the day just doodling around a little bit. To loosen up and to warm up the drawingmuscles. Sometimes it turns out to be a start for the piece of art of that day, sometimes it is more of a reflection of what is going on in my mind. And sometimes I want to keep on working on it for hours, putting aside all the other things I was supposed to do. Did I tell you already that artists are easily distracted by what comes up around or in them?
I love to paint on everything (not always to everyones pleasure I must admit)… I paint on walls, on furnuture, on floors. And I also always paint the outside of my journals. I love the black background. Often I start by dumping the paint I will not be using anymore that day on these surfaces. In the end there is always a new painting! Voila!
